The book comprises 17 chapters- Chapter 1 is an introductory chapter dealing with historical development of the law of consumer protection and explaining the scope and scheme of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 - Chapter 1 is an introductory chapter dealing with historical development of the law of consumer protection and explaining the scope and scheme of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 - Chapter 2 explains the meaning of “consumer”, “goods” and “ services” - Chapter 3 deals with Central Consumer Protection Authority established to promote, protect and enforce the rights of consumers; its duties and functions; - Chapter 4 deals restrictive trade practices of inflicting unjustified costs or restrictions by manipulating prices or conditions, resale price maintenance, tying arrangements, etc. ; practices anti- competitive in nature. - Chapter 5 deals with unfair trade practices of misleading statement , false representation, fraudulent misrepresentation , etc. - Chapter 6 deals with misleading advertisement , endorsement, sponsorship., and comparative advertisement disparaging goods of another person, etc. - Chapter 7 deals with the concept of passing off - Chapter 8 deals with concept of product liability ; the strict liability of a product manufacturer, service provider or seller to compensate a consumer for any harm or injury caused by a defective good or deficient service. - Chapter 9 deals with establishment of District , State and Nati
